Sh. Om Parkash Gupta Memorial Inter-College Debate Contest was organised by SDP College for
Women on 15 February, 2020. Sh DS Chaudhry IRS, PR Commissiner of Income Tax, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Harsimrat Kaur Grewal, PCS, Excise and Texation Officer and Sh
Jatinder Kumar Khurana, Advocate, Income Tax were the Guests of Honour. They were accorded a very warm welcome by Sh Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President, SDP College and SDP Sabha (Regd), Members of the Management, Officiating Principal and Sh KK Mahindru. The debaters debated for and against a very contemporary topic, ‘Is Technology going to Save the World.. or Kill it?’. They put forth their views and arguments skilfully. In total 15 college teams participated in the contest. Dr. Harsimrat Kaur Grewal appreciated the participants for their confidence. The Chief Guest lauded the debaters for demonstrating their oratory skills enthusiastically and said that there should be balance in today’s digital era He further exhorted the students to participate in such competitions and share their knowledge. Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. Vinay Dawar and Retd. Professor Dr Rama Kumari, were the jury members on the occasion. Dr Geeta Bhandari, Organising Secretary proposed a Vote of Thanks to guests and participating teams.

Second Prize: Twinkle, B.A II Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana
Third Prize: Neha, B.Com III, Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Girls, Ludhiana
