MAIN HIGHLIGHTS:

SDP College for Women Ldh, wore a very festive look on its 53rd Annual Athletic Meet, amidst much fervour, gaiety and exuberance, under the inspiration and stewardship of Sh Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President,  SDP College and Sabha (Regd).  Sh Vikas Thakur, Arjuna Awardee, Commonwealth Games Medalist in Weight Lifting was the Guest of Honour for the inaugural session. He unfurled the college flag, took salute of a well synchronized March past contingents, lighted the torch, released balloons and declared the meet open. 

The Chief Guest for the closing session was accorded a very warm welcome by the Members of the Management, Staff and students. Members who graced the occasion were Sh Lekh Raj Arora-Vice President, Sh H.K. Chugh, Gen, Sec., Sh Vijay Inder Gupta, Sh Dhari Shah Singla, Mr. Parveen Sharma, Sh. Om Parkash Angrish, Sh. Hira Nand, Sh. Jasbir Chauhan, Principal and Dr. Sanjeev Bindra, Principal. The students presented Aerobics exercises following the tune of the music and beat of the drum. The participants proved their mettle in various final sports events including, 100 mts race, 200 & 400 mts. and displayed great teamwork and sportsmanship. Towards the culmination of the event, students also presented, the soul of Punjabi culture, Gidha. The Chief Guest addressed the students and motivated them to participate in sports. He also urged the students to take up sports as it is not only required for fitness and well being but excellence in sports itself has many avenues.

The Chief Guest and other dignitaries honoured the players and winners of various events with certificates and Cash prizes. Sh HK Chugh, Gen. Sec. delivered a Vote of thanks to the guests for their benign presence. He also thanked the participants and coaxed them to take part in sports for a healthy life.
