Vijay Inder Gupta, Sr. Member, Sh Gulshan Lal Thukral To mark the ethnicity of Diwali Celebrations, a two-day Joint Diwali Mela was organized by SDP College for Women, Daresi Road on 22 -23 October 2019 with great fanfare and enthusiasm on Tuesday as per the guidance of Sh Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha College Managing Committee. All SDP Educational Institutions including SDP Sr. Sec. School, Hazuri Road, SDP Sr. Sec. School, Basti Jodhewal, Ram Lal Bhasin Public School Dugri, Om Parkash Gupta SDP Sr.Sec. School, Quilla
Mohalla and SDP Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, joined the festivities. Sh Sham Sunder Malhotra, Senior Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana inaugurated the morning session with Deep Prajavalan. The whole campus was highlighted with the essence and exuberance of Diwali Festival. Sh Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha College Managing Committee was the Chief Guest for the evening session. He was accorded a floral welcome by all the members of theManagement, Director Ms S Verma, Sh SM Sharma, Sh KK Mahendru and Principals of all the sister institutions, Ms. Manju Bhashinee, Officiating principal, SDP College for Women, Sh
Jasveer Chauhan, Sh Sanjeev Bindra, Ms. Raman Oberoi and Ms. Indu Khurana. The students of all SDP Educational Institutions kept the audience enthralled by their scintillating dance performances, melodious songs and theatrical items. Addressing the audience, Mr Balraj Kumar Bhasin, the Chief Guest said that such joint celebrations, not only provide platform to the students to unfold their inherent talent, but are also an opportunity to get exposure to the culture and traditions of the secular society of India. He added that the nation is going through transitional phase and the females are hitting the male bastions in every sphere of life and nobody can deter them from advancing
in life. He extended his best wishes to students and staff on the auspicious occasion of ‘Diwali Mela’. H.K. Chugh Gen. Secretary thanked the Chief Guest, Sh Balraj Kumar Bhasin for his benign presence
and motivational words. The students, who brought laurels to the college and school, by showing excellent performances in Academics as well as Co- Academics, were facilitated and awarded by the Chief Guest.
