Under the sole inspiration of Sh Balraj Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd) & College Managing Committee, ‘World Ozone Day’ was celebrated by the Department of Economics, SDP College for Women. To mark to day, ‘Making Bags out of waste’ competition was organised in which students took part enthusiastically. They made working model and articles showing how Ozon layer is affected by CFC. They also shared their views on the importance of Ozone Layer. The College Principal, Dr. Ravi Kant motivated the students to reduce and recycle waste materials. He further enlightened the students about Ozone Layer that how it is protecting life on earth from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. He then appreciated the efforts done by the Department of Economics.

 एसडीपी कॉलेज फॉर विमेन ने मनाया विश्व ओजोन दिवस

श्री बलराज भसीन, अध्यक्ष, एसडीपी सभा (पंजीकृत) और कॉलेज प्रबंध समिति की एकमात्र प्रेरणा के तहत, 'विश्व ओजोन दिवस'  अर्थशास्त्र विभाग, एसडीपी महिला कॉलेज द्वारा मनाया गया। आज के दिन को यादगार बनाने के लिए 'मेकिंग बैग्स आउट ऑफ वेस्ट' प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। उन्होंने काम करने वाला मॉडल और लेख बनाया जिसमें दिखाया गया था कि सीएफ़सी से ओजोन परत कैसे प्रभावित होती है। उन्होंने ओजोन परत के महत्व पर भी अपने विचार साझा किए। कॉलेज के प्राचार्य डॉ. रविकांत ने छात्रों को अपशिष्ट पदार्थों को कम करने और रीसायकल करने के लिए प्रेरित किया। उन्होंने आगे छात्रों को ओजोन परत के बारे में बताया कि यह कैसे पराबैंगनी विकिरण के हानिकारक प्रभावों से पृथ्वी पर जीवन की रक्षा कर रही है। इसके बाद उन्होंने अर्थशास्त्र विभाग द्वारा किए गए प्रयासों की सराहना की।
