SDP College for Women organizes an Extension Lecture on ‘Communication Skills: A Key to Success’

Under the able guidance of Sh. Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd.) and College Managing Committee, an Extension Lecture on ‘Communication Skills: A Key to Success’ was organised by the Department of English, SDP College for Women, Ludhiana. Dr. Rana Nayar, Retd. Prof., Department of English and Cultural Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, was the Resource Person. Participants comprised of students and faculty members from S.D.P. College for women, Ludhiana and Teachers from S.D.P. Collegiate Girls Senior Secondary School, S.D.P. Senior Secondary School, Hazuri Road, S.D.P. Senior Secondary School, Basti Jodhewal, Sh. O.P. Gupta Model Senior Secondary School and Sh. Ram Lal Bhasin Public School, Dugri, Ludhiana. The resource person was warmly welcomed by the members of College Managing Committee and Offg. Principal, Ms. Sudesh Bhalla. Dr. Nayar apprised the listeners of the essentiality of communication skills for success in both personal and professional life. He further said that the effective communicators are able to build relationships, clearly articulate their thoughts and feelings, work collaboratively with others, listen actively to others, and adapt their communication style to different situations. Mr. Jasveer Chauha Sir expressed gratitude towards the resource person for enriching the teachers and the students with the effective communication skills. Offg. Principal, Ms. Sudesh Bhalla congratulated on the success of this lecture and applauded the efforts done by the Department of English.
