SDP College for Women celebrates International Women’s Day

Under the expert guidance and stewardship of Sh Balraj Kumar Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd) & College Managing Committee, International Women’s Day was celebrated by the Department of Languages and IQAC of SDP College for Women, Ludhiana. The occasion was presided over by Dr. Neetu Handa, Principal. To honour womanhood, the students recited beautiful poems and shared their views. A poster making activity was also organised wherein students portrayed different facets and roles of women. To marks the day, Red Ribbon Club also arranged an expert talk on ‘PCOS and It’s Prevention’ by Dr. Arti Gupta Tuli, Consultant obstetrics and Gynaecologist, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana. She acquainted the students with the causes of various health issues related to women and the measures to curb the menace for a healthy lifestyle. Sh. BalrajKumar Bhasin, President, SDP Sabha (Regd.) and Dr. NeetuHanda, Principal, appreciated the efforts done by the Department of languages, IQAC and Red Ribbon Club and stressed that everyday should be celebrated as Women’s day.She further accentuated gender equality and said that women and men should be treated equally in social, economic and all other aspects of society. She also encouraged the young women to maintain a healthy life style. Participants were felicitated with certificates at the end of the event.
